Résumé

Cet article¹ propose un aménagement de la Service Dominant Logic (SDL) dans le cas des relations de service avec les publics vulnérables sur la base d’une étude qualitative menée dans un service gériatrique. Cette étude révèle d’une part, des pratiques de soins régies par des représentations du patient âgé « déficient » (intégration de ressources externes au patient), d’autre part, des pratiques de soins irriguées par des représentations du patient âgé « en capacité » (intégration de ressources internes au patient). Ces pratiques suggèrent des rôles différenciés endossés par les soignants traduisant une (non) participation des patients.

Abstract

This article aims to test the Service Dominant Logic (SDL) theoretical framework in care relationships including vulnerable elderly patients. Based on a qualitative study carried out in a geriatric ward, this research reveals two forms of resource integration practices implemented by caregivers: practices integrating patients’ external resources, drived by representations through deficiencies; and practices integrating patients’ internal resources, irrigated by representations by capacities. These practices uncover different roles assumed by caregivers: “intermediaries”, on the one hand, that reflect patients non-participation; and “transformative apomediaries”, on the other hand, which encourage elderly patients’ involvement in the care relationship. These results lead to propose an adjustment of the SDL framework in the context of services relationships with vulnerable publics.
